The Rick Scott/Ron DeSantis policy of killing the environment in favor of business/money at all costs has backfired in many ways, and here is just one of them–the death of our manatees.
Avoidable boat kills in the past were bad enough, but now we are not providing water clean enough to support their food. This too is avoidable, but our stupidity, greed and lack of leadership in Tallahassee has let it happen.
Our “protective” agencies, acting under an incompetent governor, are knowingly allowing the death of our rivers, springs and aquifer, and the creatures that live in them. These are the Department of Environmental Protection and the five water management districts, which are governed mostly by board members with interests in polluting and water using businesses instead of people who care for the environment.
Until this manner of water mismanagement changes in Florida, we have no hope of saving our rivers and springs-they are doomed. Unfortunately, most of the people of Florida have no inkling of this.
Thanks to Andy Marlette of the Pensacola News Journal for bringing this to everyone’s attention, and for allowing OSFR to use his cartoon. This cartoon appeared in the Gainesville Sun Sunday, September 26. 2021.

FWC stop the spraying, please let the grass grow back in our lakes and rivers ,it is what filters and cleans our water systems. And at present time FWC has killed it all ,and still continues to spray.
