Due to the pending absence of Dr. Ann Shortelle, destined for Executive Director at St. Johns district, today in Cross City, Carlos Herd was named Interim Director of the Suwannee River Water Management District. On Tuesday in Palatka, the St. Johns board clearly voiced a preference for Dr. Shortelle, although a formal vote was not taken.
Carlos Herd has been with the District for nine years, and for the last three years he has served in the capacity of Division Director for Water Supply.

President Malwitz-Jipson also thanked Dr. Shortelle for her good work and accomplishments at SRWMD and wished her well in her new endeavors.
