Amigos Dive Center, Rum 138 and OSFR are organizing a river clean up on the Santa Fe River from Hwy 27 to Rum for next Thursday, August 6, 2015.
Please meet at the US 27 Bridge at 9:30 am, if you have your own boat. If not, meet at Rum 138, 9 am sharp. Call Rum 138 in advance, if you need a boat, 386-454-4247. Boats for river clean up will be provided at no cost to you.
Shuttle service will be provided by Rum 138.
We need divers, at least 6 individuals. Please contact Wayne Kinard at Amigos if you are planning to assist us with diving for trash. 486-497-3876. Amigos provides free air for this clean up.
We have grabbers, buckets and boats for trash. We need to weigh all trash after collected.
Join us at Rum 138 for a cook out directly after clean up. Relax and unwind with the clean up crew. Food provided by Amigos (hamburgers and hot dogs) Rum 138 (salads and buns) and crew potluck.
We need to postpone clean up because the river is now tannin colored and really hard to see bottom. Folks can still get trash out the the river anytime 🙂
But the organized clean up on Thursday is postponed until river gets clear again.
