Flooding & Health Advisory from SRWMD

Rainfall totals of 3-5″ fell overnight in the Suwannee  Valley area. Expect upper Suwannee gages to rise, while lower Suwannee gages should continue to fall slowly. Parts of the saturated Steinhatchee basin received up to an additional 10″ of rain.

 Additional rainfall overnight is already causing rises at upper Suwannee and Withlacoochee gages. The NWS predicts that lower Suwannee gages will continue to fall, but at a much slower rate. The SteinhatcheeRiver is rising rapidly after nearly 10″ of rain in northern Dixie and southern Lafayette counties.

Suwannee and lower Santa Fe gages continue to fall. Idle-speed/no-wake restrictions remain on the Suwannee from US 90 to Fowler’s Bluff, and on the lower Santa Fe. Flooding and No-Wake Information May 6, 201412:44 PM Expect slow declines on the lower Santa FeRiver and on the SuwanneeRiver for the next several weeks. No-wake restrictions are still in place on the Suwannee from U.S. 90 to Fowler’s Bluff, and on the lower Santa Fe.
