Lily Springs Permit Application Withdrawn!

LilySprings In: Lily Springs Permit Application Withdrawn! | Our Santa Fe River, Inc. (OSFR) | Protecting the Santa Fe River
Permit Withdrawn: 11/16/2010

The information sent by Suwannee River Water Management District yesterday (read letters here) regarding the permit application for “Lily Springs” Bulk Water Transfer permit was a procedural matter.

According to Florida Statute 120, Lily Springs must file for an Administrative Hearing to withdraw it’s application for the permit.

To be clear, Lily Springs’ owners, Richard Corbin and John Barley, have officially WITHDRAWN their application for a water use permit to bulk transfer spring water.  And yes, the permit was flatly “denied” by all SRWMD Board members after the SRWMD staff wrote its recommendation to DENY the application based on a lack of reasonable and beneficial use….and the project not being in the public interest.

We have a lot to be thankful for…THANK YOU to everyone who helped get this WUP permit denied and consequently withdrawn.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at OSFR!
