Bradford County commissioners did not escape a reminder of the mine issue at their bi-monthly meeting on July 19, 2018.  Six speakers went to the podium, and several members of Citizens Against Phosphate Mining (CAPM) were present.

Of interest is that Stasia Rudolf is now a write-in candidate for the Bradford County Commission.

The mine was not on the agenda, but the commissioners did select a company to clean debris from the waterway draining Sampson Lake.  OSFR opposed this at the last SRWMD meeting, as cleaning the channel will expedite and increase the flow of Chemours-polluted water into the Santa Fe.  Additionally,  heavy equipment will inevitably damage the wetlands during the process.

  1. These people need to leave the upper Santa Fe and it’s tributaries alone. Is it true that wetlands have been filled in Bradford country with no permits? We live in a flood zone just north of the sink at Olena St Park and although we have been through many floods. Our house was always spared until the flood that came after Erma. What has changed in the upper Santa Fe for these floods to be seemingly to get worse and worse?
