People are requesting signs to help stop the mine. Amigos Dive Center owner Wayne Kinard kindly purchased a sign and donated a space by his famous dive center for its installation.
And today, March 23, 2019 Bradford residents in Hampton, Shelia Baxley and Sean Hudson did the same on busy Hwy l8 on Lake Hampton.
Sean Hudson, formerly of Central Florida (Polk County near Mulberry) said he was concerned, that he chose Lake Hampton to invest in a lakefront home, and he fears the lake will be harmed by the over-consumption of a phosphate mine.
Shelia Baxley, formerly a geology teacher and realtor, has concerns for the local economy and the environment and also worried about her property’s value plummeting.
More and more people are coming forth with offers to help fight the threat as they learn for the first time about the mine permit application.
