Annual Membership Meeting, 2019, held on May 22. And we had lots of people there, friends of the river all.

As usual, we had some great finger food that everyone enjoyed.  A few new faces were good to see, as we are always looking for new volunteers to help spread the word in educating about the river.  We are also looking for one new board member.

Rhonda takes the GOLDEN GRIPPER into her hands for the very first time as the  others look on with a bit of jealousy.

Highlight of the evening was when Rhonda Long received the coveted GOLDEN GRIPPER AWARD for her tireless work, first as RiverFest coordinator, and also for her other work in tabling and river clean-ups.

Speaking of which there is another on June 2 at Rum Island Park.  See the post yesterday.

President Mike went through the many, many activities and achievements of our volunteer group during the past year, and it took a long time just to list them.

Congratulations to OUR SANTA FE RIVER, a great organization made great by its leadership and its members and its donors.  No one is salaried, yet we are here and there, and speak here and there, and have tables here and there.  And raise money and spend it wisely on helping the river.

We are not in competition with other grass roots groups, but we take a back seat to none in our enthusiasm, passion,  and accomplishments.

And thanks once again to Doug and Merrillee for the great venue. Here we are, surrounded by art with a beautiful sycamore slab in the center of this wonderful room.   Visible: Merrillee, Rhonda, Natalie, Tom, Cindy, Chris, Patty, Darius, Mike, Jim, Erik.
