Please see the following important message regarding fertilizer use:

Please come out to support a strong fertilizer ordinance is springs country.   Water quality harm comes from nutrient loading from nitrates and phosphorous which is spread on lawns as landscape fertilizers and nutrient loading also feeds filamentous algae and cyanobacteria, chocking our waterways and killing our aquatic systems.

Good afternoon. This email is to brief you on proposed changes to the Alachua County Water Quality Code which include landscape irrigation, landscape fertilizer, Florida Friendly Landscaping, and storm water.  

 

At the 2/26/19 Alachua County Commission meeting, staff was authorized to proceed with scheduling and advertising a public hearing to discuss the proposed code changes.
