Thanks to Eric Thomas, we have learned of the public notice put in the newspaper that the Union County Board of County Commissioners will hold a public workshop on January 17 at 5:30 pm, followed at 6 o’clock by a board meeting which will treat the ordinance extending the mining moratorium until Feb. 15, 2018.
All those who are concerned about the threat of the HPSII Enterprises phosphate mine proposal, please come out to show support for these commissioners who are working hard to protect the Union County that we have today, and the Santa Fe River.
These commissioners are opposing people with money who would have them do otherwise, so we must show that we are behind them. Please come out, and when they approve the ordinance, go up and thank them afterward. If you must leave before, send them a thank you note, either email or the old way. They need to know they are appreciated.
