Springtime Santa Fe River Events Provide Opportunities To Explore, Learn and Play
RiverFest 2018 is on it’s way with something for everyone to enjoy at more than a dozen community events to be held this spring in the High Springs area. Our “explore, learn and play” events will bring some much-needed attention to our area water resources.
RiverFest Signature Events include land and water tours, workshops and lectures by highly regarded water experts. In addition, family fun music will be available at two events: the 8th Annual Our Santa Fe River Songwriting Contest on March 25 and a reunion of past contest winners and contestants at High Springs’ Music in the Park event on March 18. For those of you that would like to compete in this year’s songwriting contest, please check out the Entry Form here.
Several other events on the RiverFest calendar —including moonlit river paddles, chili cook-off, springs celebrations and a plein air paintout—are sponsored by like-minded environmental organizations.
Our goal is to make it easy for area residents and visitors to have fun and learn more about our precious water resources. And there is a lot to learn! The events also will enable us to raise funds so we can continue our grassroots efforts to protect the aquifer, springs and waters in this area.
