The quarterly, always-good Santa Fe River Springs Protection Forum took place on Oct. 27, 2016 in the High Springs Museum, with a field trip to High Springs Orchard and Bakery.
This was Agriculture Day with Mace Bauer, from UF/IFAS Extension, Columbia Co, who spoke on agricultural trends in the Santa Fe basin, Hugh Thomas, Senior Project Manager at SRWMD, who spoke on the district’s agricultural programs, Danielle Treadwell, Associate Prof. at UF/IFAS, who spoke on small farms in Florida, and Anna Prizzia, UF Field and Fork Program, who spoke on local food systems.
Our thanks go to Stacie Greco, who always puts on a good and classy program, and her department in Alachua County, forward thinking and acting, always to the benefit of our environment.
We look forward to the next Forum.
