There will be an open house on Sat. Oct. 8, from 10 am to 2 pm to celebrate the new rural Sierra Club office at Rum 138, 2070 SR Hwy 138, Fort White. Greet Merrillee, co-founder and past president of OSFR, last president of Save Our Suwannee, and just recently appointed organizer representative of Sierra Club.
“To explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth; To practice and promote the responsible use of the earth’s ecosystems and resources; To educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment; and to use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.”
OSFR also has close and frequent interaction with the Suwannee-St. Johns Group Sierra Club, headquartered in
Gainesville, sharing picnics, workshops, protests, and summits.
