Some things need time, so we have extended our song entry deadline to March 10.
Songwriters are encouraged to submit original song submissions about the Santa Fe River for entry to the 8th Annual OSFR Songwriters Contest, to be held Sunday, March 25.
The competition will bring local and regional songwriters and music lovers from around the state to celebrate and learn about the Santa Fe River. The competition is one of the many “explore, learn and play” RiverFest 2018 events sponsored by Our Santa Fe River, Inc. (OSFR) this spring.
Judges will look for originality, quality of lyrics, melody and performance. The finalists will take the stage during the afternoon and will have an opportunity to win the $300 first place prize. Each finalist will receive a professional video of their performance, which also will be placed on YouTube.
This annual fundraising event also will offer food and drink and an afternoon of family fun. Our Santa Fe River (OSFR) is a North Florida non-profit, volunteer organization working to protect our springs, river and aquifer. Proceeds go to educational and advocacy activities, all designed to protect the aquifer, springs and waters in this area.
The outdoor event will be held at Rum 138, located at 2070 Southwest County Road 138 in Fort White.
Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door, with no charge for children 12 and under. Contest and event Information is available at OurSantaFeRiver.org.Don’t wait! Complete your entry now!
