The Springs Eternal Project hosted a celebration and screening of the Springs Ambassadors Camp film at First Magnitude Brewery in Gainesville on June 7, 2017. The camp, initiated by Dr. Lesley Gamble, was a pilot program last year and targeted 7th and 8th graders and gave them a week-long immersion (pun intended) in springs, nature and the environment.

Based at Gilchrist Blue Springs, the participants were taught by local springs experts, among them John Moran, Jenny Adler, Tom Morris, Margaret Ross Tolbert, Cynthia Barnett, Karen Chadwick, Kristen Grace, Lars Andersen, Anna Prizzia and Val Leitner. The film, produced and directed by Eric Flagg, also included Jim Stevenson.
In spite of torrential rains, a large crowd attended the showing, with many of the participants present. As one of the sponsors, OSFR is happy and proud to be associated with such an admirable and successful program. We recognize the need to get the next generation enthusiastic about our springs in order to continue the battle to save them.
Thanks Springs Eternal, for a job extremely well done.
