We have received the following information.   Please take the time to make these calls.  Time is short.

All, this is a highly condensed version of a message that 1000 Friends
of Florida sent out this morning.

On Saturday afternoon budget talks between the Florida House and Florida
Senate broke down and the entire environmental budget was “bumped” to
Appropriation Chairmen Sen. Jack Latvala and Rep. Carlos Trujillo. The
fate of Florida Forever is now in their hands.
As is, Florida’s 2017-2018 state budget provides $0 as funding for the
Florida Forever land acquisition program. This is unacceptable.

If you have time today, 1000 Friends of Florida urges that you contact
the following legislators.  Thankfully, this list is short. Latvala and
Trujillo are the ones to prioritize:

Sen. President Joe Negron
850-487-5025
[email protected]

Speaker Richard Corcoran
850-717-5037
[email protected]

Sen. Jack Latvala
850-487-5016
[email protected]

Rep. Carlos Trujillo
850-717-5105
[email protected]

You can email all four by pasting the following:
[email protected]; [email protected];
[email protected]; [email protected]

into the address line in your email.

I’d suggest messages like:

The 2017-2018 MUST include funding for Florida Forever;
Defunding Florida Forever is an insult to Florida citizens and Florida’s
future;
Keep Florida Forever for a better future;

or, consult the 1000 Friends website for message ideas:
http://www.1000friendsofflorida.org/2017-florida-legislative-session/ ,
under the heading Conservation Legislation.

Thanks, perhaps this can be turned around.
