Water conservation is important, even during floods
LIVE OAK, FL, April 29, 2014 – Florida’s climate is typically characterized by two seasons a year: a rainy season and a dry season. Nevertheless, day-to-day weather in Florida is often unpredictable.
The District’s region has received a lot of water from rainfall here and in Georgia. Even with all of this water, it is essential to remember the importance of water conservation.
Water levels are dynamic and respond to seasonal changes. The current concern is flood levels; however, it was only two short years ago when the region was under a severe drought. Thus, water conservation must be looked at in the long-term while also becoming a part of everyday life.
The water use demands continue to increase. Water conservation is an inexpensive measure that all users an undertake to help reduce existing and future water supply needs. Water conservation is about using water wisely and efficiently, regardless of the weather outside. Conserving water is just one part in the larger picture of ensuring a sustainable water supply.
