There will be a special meeting of the Columbia County commissioners to review Board Meeting and Ethics Policies. We have no insight as to what may come up at this meeting, but in light of the recent improper conduct by commission chairman Ron Williams, hopefully these policies can be improved and corrected.
Mr. Williams has been accused of using county resources for personal campaigning for reelection and also it appears he ignored his elected county attorney Joel Foreman and went over his head for legal advice which he then presented to the board as factual. Ethics if not policies dictate that he consult his attorney in legal matters.
If you feel that the board’s policies have been lacking in propriety lately, please come to the meeting. Likely there will be an opportunity for public comment and you can tell Mr. Williams and the other commissioners how you feel about this.

Who put this on the agenda? Who requested this action? Do we know??
yes, Murphy put in on. I have limited knowledge of this, but my guess is that if a request if made by someone, any one of the commissioners enters the item. It may not mean that Murphy has a beef with the ethics and policies. Maybe the request came from the county attorney.
This is wonderful news Jim! I’m putting it on my calendar. Thanks so much for the info!
THANKS Jim for the “heads up”. I have a few questions I would like to ask Mr. Williams about his comments too!
