Today was a good day for all the fifth graders at Pleasant Grove Elementary School in Inverness, FL. About 112 of them learned a lot today about springs, drinking water, our aquifer and the importance of all these, and even better, how to keep them from contamination.
OSFR Policy Director and spokesperson Merrillee Malwitz-Jipson made the trip from Fort White to give her tie-dye demonstration along with the water information, which has now been experienced by well over two thousand individuals.
Fifth grade teacher Michael Breder coordinated the project, and the funding for materials was provided by a generous grant from the Citrus County Education Foundation.
The tie-dye projects are a fine example of carrying out OSFR’s prime mission: education in the community. Our thanks to our tireless policy director who gave up her work day to help OSFR.
