The Ag Module meeting was held today at the Austin Cary Learning Center north of Gainesville.  Today was the first day of the two-day event, which includes speakers  today and a visit to a local nursery and a kayak trip down the Ichetucknee tomorrow.

Big water users dominated the speaker group, which included  cattle ranchers, fertilizer companies, ag interests,  land developers and state water managers.

Cynthia Barnett

OSFR president Merrillee Malwitz-Jipson attended, along with representatives from other environmental groups, with about 90 people in all.  Author Cynthia Barnett was a bright note among the big user interests. Cynthia Barnett began the moderation of this panel with her Water Ethic….” Making sure the way we live with water today does not jeopardize fresh, clean water for our children, businesses and ecosystems tomorrow.”
