The Bradford County Commissioners did their business as usual on Sept.19, with no mention of the mine.   In recent days, however,  the County received copies of documents from HPS which we assume are the most recent attempt at generating a Master Mine Plan in order to ultimately garner a mining permit from the DEP.

Bradford County is still awaiting the report from Onsite Environmental Consulting which is supposed to give them advice regarding the HPS permit application.  The report was promised a year ago and is still forthcoming.

As someone pointed out long ago, HPS has revised their plan so many times it might be considered a brand new application.

The new documents will be discussed at the Bradford Environmental Forum on Sat. Sept. 28, from 01:00 pm to 05:00 pm at the Florida Coalition for Peace & Justice meeting space at 10665 SW 89th Ave., Hampton, FL.

Known mine opponents recognized at Thursday night’s county commission meeting included Kate Ellison, Cathy and Paul Still, and your historian.
