Following our comments we have published  a paragraph taken from Rum 138’s FaceBook page. The press release can be seen on our calendar page.

Few people have seen the aquifer caves and corridors under our feet in our area of North Florida in the manner of Jill Heinerth.  She has pioneered the exploration of this area and many remote places around the world.

Her explorations have broken many SCUBA barriers, including the first mapping of many of our extensive cave systems, and many dive “firsts”,  adding new knowledge of our unique geographical treasures.

She is truly fearless and her adventures have put here life at risk innumerable times.

Because of her courage and skills we know many new things about our water and our world.  And note that throughout her comments and writings, she stresses the impact of climate change now occurring on our planet.

Our thanks to Jill Heinerth for choosing OSFR headquarters for the first showing of her outstanding documentary and book signing of Under Thin Ice, and to Doug and Merrillee of Rum 138 for hosting this water event.

Gala Film Productions announced the release of Under Thin Ice featuring renowned underwater explorer and author of the new book Into The Planet – My Life as a Cave Diver, Jill Heinerth. More people have walked on the moon than have been to some of the remote places Jill Heinerth has explored on earth. Jill is a veteran of over 25 years of scientific diving, filming/photography and exploration, and her expeditions include the first dives inside Antarctica icebergs, and record-breaking scientific missions in deep underwater caves around the world.
Jill’s North American book tour brought her to RUM138 in Fort White, Florida on Friday, Nov. 8, 2019 for a book signing event and national film premiere hosted by the RUM138. She will be meeting people and signing books at 2070 SW County Rd 138, Fort White, FL 32038 from 6 pm.
