Suwannee – St. Johns Group/Sierra Club   has sent OSFR the following invitation

Our group will be hosting a picnic at Poe Springs this July 18th. Our executive board would like to invite you and the supporters of Our Santa Fe River. Would you be willing to pass this invite along in your newsletter or email announcement? We’d love to have folks from your group join us. Have a great summer and we hope to see you!


Please join us for our annual picnic in the park at Poe Springs on July 18th!

Poe Springs is located at 28800 NW 182nd Ave, High Springs, FL

Please bring a dish to share and your own cutlery. Admission is free at Poe Springs.

11 a.m – 2 p.m.

Potluck – bring a dish to share and your own cutlery.

Activities include swimming snorkeling, kayaking, canoeing, wildlife viewing, playground, volleyball, hiking and nature trails.

The Sierra Club was founded in 1892 in California by John Muir, Joseph LeConte, and others. Their goal was to “enlist the support and cooperation of the people and government in preserving the forests and other natural features of the Sierra Nevada.” For years, Muir had hiked the mountains of California and shared the wonders he found with others, including President Theodore Roosevelt.
