Great news for High Springs! The Florida Humanities Council for the Museum on Main Street Water/Ways exhibit for 2016 is coming to High Springs and will be housed in the High Springs Historical Museum.
Water is the theme and who better than OSFR to deal with that? We are but one of many participants who will help put High Springs and the Santa Fe River on the map, with the help of this Smithsonian sponsored program.

Museum on Main Street

The Smithsonian is coming to town! Museum on Main Street (MoMS) is a partnership of the Smithsonian Institution and state humanities councils nationwide. The program brings high-quality traveling exhibits to small towns across the state.
Participating MoMS sites receive:

A free-standing traveling Smithsonian exhibit
$6,000 for programming (i.e. – local exhibits, lectures, panel discussions, etc.)
A comprehensive Smithsonian press kit
Institutional capacity-building opportunities
And much more!

Stay tuned for more information and the dates of the exhibit, which will be posted as they are revealed.  High Springs is one of only six cities in Florida to be selected for this honor.

Friends & Other Advocates - Part of Our mission here at Our Santa Fe River is to inform the public about issues pertaining to the water quality and quantity of the Santa Fe River. We do that in many ways including posting articles here on Our website. To that end, we use many articles from many different sources. So we send out a huge THANK YOU to all of those friends and other advocates who give their time and energy by writing about what matters most to us, protecting Our Santa Fe River and letting us republish those items here on our website.
