OSFR will have its regularly scheduled board meeting on Wed. June 22 at headquarters at Rum 138 at 6;30 pm.  Please note that Mr. Alan Hitchcock of Santa Fe River Ranch will be a guest speaker.

Alan Hitchcock

Mr. Hitchcock operated grocery markets in Alachua, Astor, East Palatka, Hawthorne, Interlachen, Jasper, Keystone Heights, Newberry, Old Town, Trenton and Williston. The family first started stores in 1943 but sold the chain in 2008.

Mr. Hitchcock now is involved with Santa Fe River Ranch, which hosts weddings, hunting, and is a working cattle ranch.  Mr. Hitchcock sits on the board of the Alachua County Farm Bureau.

In an effort to be good stewards of the land, Santa Fe River Ranch voluntarily participates in Best Management Practices (BMPs) to maintain and improve the environment. The ranch was recently recognized by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Florida Farm Bureau Federation for implementing environmentally sound stewardship practices.

The meeting is open to the public.
