If anyone has interest in the activities of Governor DeSantis’ Blue-Green Algae Task Force, you will find a link below to an on-line meeting on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, from 1-2:30 pm.  There is link to register for this meeting.

This task force is the governor’s way of expressing his sham interest in Florida’s water problems.  Although some members have the right answers, DeSantis usually ignores the findings and recommendations.

Blue-Green algae is known to flourish because of excessive nutrients in the water and because of reduced flows in springs and rivers.  The State of Florida does not want to tackle the sources of these nutrients and water pumpers, apparently because of expenses or fear of offending the polluters.
