On Tuesday, Dec. 15 2015 at a BOCC  workshop  in Palatka,  Merrillee Malwitz-Jipson, OSFR Policy Director and co-founder of Floridians Against Fracking, and Karen Chadwick, Vice President of Putnam County  Environmental Council presented an educational run-down on the dangers of fracking.  They requested  the development and approval of a resolution to ban fracking and related activities in Putnam County. The information they provided is in the hands of the County Attorney for review.

The Chairman requested a copy of Merrillee’s powerpoint presentation so that a copy could be given to the Commissioners and Administrator. The next Commissioner’s meeting is January 12, 2016. Merrillee will give her presentation for the public and county leaders to review during that meeting. A resolution is being considered by the Commissioners at this time.  Please attend this meeting if at all possible to voice your support to the Commissioners in banning fracking.

The counties and cities signing on to the anti-fracking resolutions are growing weekly.  OSFR is grateful to Karen Chadwick for initiating this action Putnam County.
