An article by Fred Hiers in today’s Gainesville Sun describes the reaction of local water and environmental experts to Gov. Scott’s announced intentions of allocating money for Florida’s springs.  Scott has promised to spend $500 million over 10 years for springs restoration,  as well as millions more for developing alternative water sources and for Florida Forever.

Dr. Robert Knight, who will speak tonight at Silver Springs Alliance’s “Sacred Springs Forum in Ocala, and Silver River Museum founder Guy Marwick, also slated to speak,  both were skeptical of Scott’s motives and ability to carry through with the promises.
