“HONESTLY, THIS IS ALL ABOUT GREED”
Merrillee’s best and most succinct statement regarding Seven Springs Water Co.
Following is the WMNF interview with OSFR board member Merrillee Malwitz-Jipson on the Seven Springs/Nestle water permit. The Suwannee River Water Management District staff is recommending approval, but the vote was tabled yesterday, Aug. 11, 2020 until in-person meetings could be held once again.
This gives the district and the Department of Environmental Protection time to finish revising the Minimum Flows and Levels, which likely may remove the Santa Fe River from the “in recovery” category. This would be an egregious miscarriage of truth, since the river is down at least 28 per cent of its traditional flows. It seems that it is all in how you measure it and the contrived model that is used.
But the 28 per cent deficit cannot be made to go away, no matter what numbers you write down on paper.
Merrillee starts around 18:39 on the tape. Her assessment of the bottled water extraction problem at Ginnie Springs is accurate, well stated and thorough, with all points covered. The interview aired on Monday, Aug. 10, 2020.
Our thanks go to Merrillee and WMNF’s
for a superb job of airing this issue.
