OSFR board member Joanne Tremblay has forwarded the following information from Asia Eichmiller regarding an event focusing on the Right to Clean and Healthy Waters Ballot Initiative to amend the Florida Constitution for 2024.
As our state has proved to be unwilling or incapable of fixing the water crisis in Florida, this may be the only salvation for our diminishing waters.
This amendment is crucial and the citizens of Florida must do the work of the inept and useless DEP and water districts.

In Florida, we have known the joys of the beautiful rivers, springs, lakes, and oceans. The offerings of our Florida waters are mighty. But these waters are silent; they do not have a voice, And they and all their offerings are in peril.
David Moritz is the North Florida Region Director of Florida Rights of Nature Network, Inc., a nonprofit organization sponsoring the Right to Clean and Healthy Waters Ballot Initiative to amend the Florida Constitution for 2024. He has lived in Alachua County for 30 years and has been a member of the Alachua County Environmental Protection Advisory Committee, a County appointed Board, for 10 years. He is an Advanced Florida Master Naturalist and Wildlife Photographer with a devotion for the amazing natural world here in Florida. He understands well the interconnectedness of man and nature, having advocated for many years the Rights of Nature.
