Iche Nippy Dip Day This Saturday
Springs lovers will come together once again to celebrate our springs and continue the tradition which was only postponed last year due to Covid.
As in the past, come to the North entrance of Ichetucknee State Park. Dips at 9 am and 11 am. There will be a camp fire to warm up with and also coffee and hot chocolate will be available.
The dip tradition was started many decades ago when Earl Kinard first began making it a point to take a swim every New Year’s day. The tradition caught on and persists and has grown as people realize what a treasure we have in the springs of our Springs Heartland.
The Kinards are great friends of the rivers and springs. Wayne runs the Amigos Dive Center and he regularly does cleanups on the Santa Fe River. Over the years he has hauled out tons of trash.
