Michael McGrath of Sierra Club has sent out information about this important meeting in Gainesville on August 28, 2023. As we well know, we have to kick and punch the DEP to make it do its job of protecting our water, so the greater force that shows up will be better for our springs and rivers.
Thanks to tireless Betty Johnson for the alert.

1) Share our Facebook event within your networks! Invite your FB friends, post it on Nextdoor, or share to relevant Facebook groups that have other like-minded people who care about the health of our springs. Anyway you can help us spread the word would be greatly appreciated. Here is our sharable link: https://fb.me/e/4FA4ZGBVs
2) help with making calls to Sierra Club members and supporters (from the comfort of your home!). Got an hour or two to make some calls? If so we’ll give you a list of contacts and numbers and a script of what to say. Sometimes that personalized call and outreach is what get’s people to come to the meeting. The more bodies we have in the room, the more people power we show to FDEP and state leaders that we won’t continue to stand for harm to our springs. If you are able to help make calls, contact me at michael.mcgrath@sierraclub.ort or my mobile at 386-341-4708.
Otherwise, I’ll see you at the workshop on Monday 🙂
