The Suwannee River Water Management Districts’ SRWMD Hydrologic Conditions Report for June recorded ’55 percent less than the 1932-2023 average of 6.79 inches of rain. ‘ Less rain and hotter weather means our landscape needs a drink to survive. Native plants are adapted to our hot, dry climate, but some plants just need a little help from the end of a hose. Did you know that hand-watering uses less water than irrigation?

This irrigation schedule is promoted by our SRWMD. “Water conservation continues to be necessary to sustain healthy groundwater levels and flows in District springs and rivers. All users are urged to eliminate unnecessary uses. Landscape irrigation .. is limited to twice per week based on a District water conservation rule that applies to residential landscaping, public or commercial recreation areas, and businesses that are not regulated by a District-issued water use permit.”

Thank you for caring and doing what you can to conserve on your water use.
