Just as we are delighted to see the City of Zephyrhills put a moratorium on development due to lack of water, we are thrilled to see this action by the wise leaders of Hernando County to thwart Ron DeSantis who has now signed this bad bill into law.

The recent law taking away home rule gives more power to our bought-and-paid-for politicians who cater to the fertilizer companies.  Politicians beholden to fertilizer companies also played the ubiquitous “study card” which fools no one.

The issue of whether fertilizer leaches into the ground during the rainy season has been studied to death, and has a tainted history with the issue of the University of Florida spewing disinformation to local leaders.
