Dan Eagan

Dan Egan is the author of the New York Times bestseller The Death and Life of the Great Lakes. A two-time finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and winner of the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, he lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with his wife and children.  He has written several articles on phosphorous before publishing this book  The  Devil’s Element: Phosphorus and a World Out of Balance .

Scientists at Florida’s Department of Environmental Protection know full well the problems and the dangers presented by over-use of fertilizers but do not stop it because they do not want to offend the abusers which provide income  to the State of Florida.
