NOAA has released its U.S. Department of Commerce | National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration | National Marine Fisheries Service Gulf of Mexico Aquaculture Opportunity Area Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement Public Scoping Summary.

Not surprisingly, over 80 per cent of the comments opposed the proposed aquaculture ventures in the Gulf of Mexico off the Florida coast.  We have posted various times on this subject.  Basic reading on this topic will reveal that, just as in mining operations, accidents always happen even though the companies claim their operations are safe and will not harm anyone or anything.
