This article below gives a distorted picture. This applause is premature.
So a bunch of money is going to the Indian River Lago0n. We have learned over the years that spending lots of money on a spring or waterway does not mean the problem will be fixed. Especially when they say that the problem will be “monitored” by the DEP” or whomever. Monitoring means absolutely nothing. Money spent may also mean nothing if the polluters are jumped over, which is usually the case.
S0 we cannot classify DeSantis as an environmentalist by any stretch of the imagination.

By the way, the leaders of the five water management districts do not count as “environmental leaders” because they are not fixing our water.
A pretty good way to evaluate a leader as “environmental” or not is to see if the springs, rivers and aquifer are in better or worse shape after their term of office.
What we have in Florida is a continual and constant decline of the quantity and quality of our water.
Year after year and leader after leader.
