Tim Canova will be our keynote speaker at this event. He will be addressing the legal and environmental issues facing our own “Standing Rock”: the Sabal Trail Pipeline.
This is a POTLUCK! Please bring a dish to share. Dinnertime!
We will be addressing ways our community can become involved, from simple donations to becoming a water protector at the camps.
We are also so grateful to have the presence of the following speakers as well…
Chief Bobby C. Billie is one of the Clan Leaders and Spiritual Leader of the Council of the Original Miccosukkee Simanolee Nation Aboriginal Peoples. His life is dedicated to working on behalf of the natural world, sacred sites, and his ancestors.
Shannon Larsen is a strong advocate for human rights and environmental protection. She brings a strong message to stop destroying the very systems that we as human beings are dependent upon for survival and to respect other cultures and their way of life.
OSFR members Cindy Noel and Michael Roth will be speaking on behalf of the Water is Life camp. Explaining the importance of a camp, their functions, and how you can be involved.
Cindy Noel Mike Roth
Sal Serbin, Executive Director of the Florida Chapter of American Indian Movement will also be speaking about possible camps forming near the Suwannee River, Lake Okeechobee and Crystal River, native American history and presence, and how we can work together with our indigenous relatives to protect this planet.
Please join us for this call to action meeting for our protest December 10th. We will also be discussing how we can support and participate in future calls to action connected with the camps and beyond. #StandUpFightBack will be sponsoring a caravan to the Water Is Life camp in the near future.
