RiverFest 2024 Singer/Songwriter Contest Prizes and Rules

  1. The theme must be the entrant’s original song about the Santa Fe River.
  2. Fill out the entry form including lyrics, and an MP3 audio file by March 10, 2024
  3. Once your entry has been approved, there will be a $25 entry fee which will cover three entry tickets and food vouchers for all stage performers. Additional tickets can be purchased separately from our website. 
  4. Limit song to less than 4.5 minutes
  5. Each entrant may submit only one song.  However, back up musicians will be allowed to accompany other contestants.
  6. Amateur & professional musicians are welcome.
  7. Winners will receive:
    • 1ST Place Prize – $300 cash and five hours of studio time at Heartwood Soundstage.
    • 2ND Place Prize – $150 cash and $125 gift certificate from Heartwood Soundstage.
    • 3RD Place Prize – $50 cash and $125 gift certificate from Heartwood Soundstage.
  8. A food voucher will be given to each performer
  9. Criteria for judging will include 
    • Lyrics,
    • Performance, 
    • Authenticity,
    • Originality,
    • Melody
  10. No previous winning entries will be allowed.
  11. OSFR reserves the right to upload all performances online. 
  12. A professional copy will be available to contestants through OSFR.  No other persons may purchase a copy of the performance.
  13. Entries will not be returned or deleted, and all rights remain with the contestant(s).
  14. The entry form must include Lyric sheet containing the song title and lyrics composer(s) name, (please include copyright symbol & date) mailing address, email, & phone number: Song Title @ Composer’s Name, Year
  15. Applicants will be advised on or before March 8, 2024 if they have been selected to perform.  
  16. Approved applicants will need to pay a $25 Entry Fee by March 15, 2024.
  17. Entrants must be available to sing their song for RIVERFEST on Sunday, March 24th, 2024 on the stage at Rum 138 from approximately 1:45 to 4PM.
  18. Affidavit of eligibility/recording rights/publicity release is included in the Entry Form
    • The affidavit will state that winner’s song is original work and he/she holds all rights to song. Applicants under 18 years of age at time of award must be countersigned by parent or legal guardian. Affidavits are subject to verification by OSFR and its agents.  
  19. Entry constitutes permission to use winner’s names, likenesses, and voices for future advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation.
