TMDLs Are a License to Pollute

tally-capitol

This meeting is about Total Maximum Daily Loads of pollutants allowed in our waterways.  Since this rule makes a certain quantity legal, it amounts to a license to pollute.   Thus industry is happy because the DEP allows them to pollute.

Having a public meeting about it just makes the DEP think they appear less guilty.

As the DEP said about the New Wales gigantic sinkhole, they follow the letter of the law.

Makes it all OK.

As one legislator once said in committee: “I’m  going to vote for this [polluting law] because I can’t believe our DEP would allow any harm to come to our environment.”
