The Florida Springs Council has sent the information below regarding the State’s Basin Management Action Plans (BMAPs.) Those of you who have been around OSFR for much time will know the sad history of the BMAPs and our struggle to make the DEP accountable.
The upshot is that they are useless and the State has worked diligently and furiously to deceive the citizens of Florida into believing they are sincere about protecting our waters, when just the opposite is true.
For what it is worth, please note that the one for the Santa Fe River is May 24.

📢 Upcoming BMAP Public Meetings |
DEP says they will update BMAPs by July 1, 2025. FSC will continue to inform our members when the Department is holding public meetings for BMAP updates. This is our opportunity to ensure the State adopts effective plans as required by law to restore Florida’s springs. The upcoming meetings will focus on Nitrogen Source Inventory Loading Tool (NSILT) results and spring vent analysis. DEP is holding virtual public meetings in May for the following Basin Management Action Plans:
