Wonderful News For ACT and the Santa Fe River

Following is a page from the Alachua Conservation Trust news and it is wonderful news. Since our DEP and our Suwannee River Water Management District will not stop the over-pumping and nitrates pollution of our river, hard-working groups such as ACT, OSFR FSI, FSC and others are even more important to the survival of springs and rivers.

Amazing Give Donors Raise Over $55,000 for the Santa Fe River!

The Amazing Give has come and gone, but ACT’s conservation work continues to grow thanks to all of you! In total, over $1.4 million was raised on April 20th in just 12 hours for non-profit organizations in North Central Florida!

Throughout the giving day, you donated to ACT to help protect two important properties, totaling 442 acres, located at the headwaters of the Santa Fe River.

THANK YOU to everyone who donated and shared our fundraising page. Your efforts helped raise over $55,000 for Santa Fe River conservation! Not only did you donate, you donated at key moments to help us meet both Match Challenges at 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., unlocking an additional $1,750 towards our goal. Your donations also helped us meet the $25,000 overall match and made this year’s Amazing Give one of the most successful Amazing Give events for ACT to date!

Our Santa Fe River, Inc is a Florida not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) organization composed of concerned citizens working to protect the waters and lands supporting the aquifer, springs and rivers within the watershed of the Santa Fe River. We do this by promoting public awareness pertaining to the ecology, quality, and quantity of the waters and lands immediately adjacent to and supporting the Santa Fe River, including its springs and underlying aquifer.
