Alachua County Meeting to Amend the Comprehensive Plan

The Local Planning Agency and Planning Commission will meet Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in the Jack Durrance Auditorium Room 209 and hold a public hearing on the following  Comprehensive Plan Amendment and zoning matters.  This  will include:

Application CPA-01-09 (Large Scale Amendment)

A request by Alachua County to amend the Alachua County Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Element,

Transportation Mobility Element, Intergovernmental Coordination Element, and Capital Improvements Element to update the Transportation Concurrency Management System by establishing Urban Cluster Transportation Mobility Districts; modifying the process for satisfying transportation concurrency requirements; adding Transit Oriented Development policies; modifying the Traditional Neighborhood Development Policies; and updating the Schedule of Capital Improvements for public facilities subject to concurrency, including establishing a long term schedule of capital improvement projects to implement Transportation Mobility Districts in the Urban Cluster.

Application CPA-03-09 (Large Scale Amendment)

A request by Alachua County to amend the Conservation and Open Space Element to adopt the “Alachua County Floridian Aquifer High Recharge Area” map and amend Policy 4.5.3 to indicate its use and applicability; amend related Policies 4.5.4, 4.5.5.5, 4.5.19, and 5.7.8 and amend definition of High Aquifer Recharge Area to refer to the new map and zones.

Also, three (3) items for request by Alachua County to amend the Future Land Use Map 2020 from Rural Agriculture to Preservation (for Alachua County Forever properties).

General information: All interested persons are invited to attend and be heard. Hearings are in the Jack Durrance

Auditorium on the second floor of the County Administration Building, 12 Southeast First Street, Gainesville.  Persons

wishing to comment on the above scheduled items may file written comments with the Director of the Department of

Growth Management, Office of Planning and Development prior to the scheduled hearings. All persons are advised

that, if they decide to appeal any decision made at this public hearing or meeting, they will need a record of the

proceedings and, for such purposes, they made need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made,

which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
